The holidays are coming up pretty fast and I can’t believe it! Soon the hubby and I will be heading to see family for Thanksgiving. All the women in my family has a tradition every year of getting up SUPER early on Black Friday and going shopping for gifts. This is something that I always look forward to every year because I get to spend time with my mom and sister! There are a couple Black Friday deals that I have my eye on this year. I try to only buy gifts for others, but I have to admit…if I find a good deal, sometimes I’ll nab something for myself! Do you guys brave the cold and crowds to go shopping on Black Friday? Do you only buy for others or do you snatch something for yourself too?
Although my husband absolutely hates the sound of music, I think it is brilliant. It also doesn’t hurt that Julie Andrews stars in it…I mean she is all things pleasant. (Anyone else have fond memories of Mary Poppins?) After having the song stuck in my head for the whole day, I decided to do a post on MY favorite things.
My favorite color: Teal
My favorite dessert: Crème Brulee
My favorite vacation spot: Paris, France
Photo taken by me, June 2013
My favorite state: Michigan (My home state)
My favorite beauty product: Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream
My favorite item of clothing: Moto Jacket
What are your favorite things? Leave a comment and let me know!
Hello fashionable friends! As fall is fully upon us, dressing warmer is a must. It can be difficult, but I like dressing for cooler weather as opposed to warmer weather. Starting in the autumn, layering becomes my best friend. Big comfy sweaters are my go-to. They can be so stylish, if paired with the right pieces. Personally, I think these girls nailed it.

What’s your favorite thing to wear when it starts to get chilly out?
You know what I love? I love me some nature. So when I get a chance to bring a little piece of the outdoors to the indoors, you can bet that I’ll do it. It freshens up a room and adds interest. For instance, birch trees…I think they’re beautiful! Something about the contrast of the light and dark tones really attracts my attention. I also love the look of bare branches in a flower vase in the winter. I’ve even seen some glittery ones that were really awesome! Do you guys like to bring the outdoors in? How?

Hello again! It’s been a long time since I last posted…since May, I believe. Wow, a lot has happened since then. Some good, some bad. I’ve moved up north, switched schools and have been moving forward in life. We are approaching the season of thankfulness (although it should be all year round!) and I have so many things to be thankful for!
- my husband and doggie (and the unconditional love I receive from both of them!)
- my extremely supportive family
- the ability to travel (to France, to see family)
- being able to continue school and pursue my degree
- the seasons of fall and winter (which I now get to experience since I moved up north!)
I’ve been soaking up the cooler weather and the use of cozy sweaters have become a daily occurrence! I LOVE getting cozy in the evening with a cup of tea, a blanket and my iPad, catching up on blog posts and such.
